Floral Park Flats

Multifamily Residential — 24 units, workforce housing · Butte, Montana · Architect: Range Design & Architecture

Light wood framing designed around a discipline of efficiency, modularity, and constructability. Every structural decision calibrated to keep costs within reach of working families in Butte. Exposed timber stairways and corridors bring warmth and character.

Johnson Street Shelter — Modular Bathroom Facility

Civic / Community Infrastructure · Missoula, Montana · Architect: Hone Architects + Builders · Pro bono

Mass timber restroom and shower facilities for a temporary homeless shelter, designed from the outset for relocation. Glulam timber panels with integrated pick points — steel detailed outside the envelope to eliminate thermal bridging. Can be lifted, transported, and bolted to a new pad foundation at another site.

University of Montana College of Business Stage

Civic / Academic · Missoula, Montana · Architect: Paradigm 3 Architecture

A performance stage for the University of Montana's hospitality program — students book and produce live shows here for academic credit. The structure is a symmetric pentagonal CLT roof, approximately 30 by 30 feet, with glulam panel walls designed as a cantilever timber frame for seismic and wind loads. Clean inconspicuous joinery throughout. Conduit routed through concealed chases in wall and roof panels.

Ron Clausen Observation Pavilion

Civic / Outdoor Structure · Rock Creek Confluence, Five Valleys Land Trust · Architect: Paradigm 3 Architecture

A sloping CLT roof with glulam columns and knee-braced beams for lateral loads. Concealed Rothoblaas hardware throughout. Column bases elevated on galvanized steel structure for long-term durability in an outdoor environment. A quiet, well-detailed piece of infrastructure for a place worth preserving.

Armitage Bar and Restaurant

Commercial — Hospitality, 8,000 SF · Chicago, Illinois · Architect: Range Design & Architecture · Construction documents in progress

A floating structural brick spandrel wraps the building perimeter, supported on slender columns tied to the roof structure, with the glass exterior wall set inboard, creating a continuous covered walkway around the building. The brick reads as suspended. Careful integration between the steel roof, masonry wall, and embedded steel column stubs makes the architecture work.
